Opal Carew is the author of eight erotic romance novels (and counting) for St. Martin's Press, a major New York publishing house. Before publishing with St. Martin's, Carew wrote as Elizabeth Batten-Carew with almost a dozen stories available through small publishers, most in ebook form. She also has stories with Sinful Moments Press and Red Sage Publishing.  Her St. Martin's books include: Twin Fantasies, Swing, Blush, Six, Secret Ties, with Forbidden Heat, and Bliss scheduled for released in 2010.

Carew has been a finalist for several awards, including the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence, the HOLT Medallion, the Laurel Wreath Award, and the Passionate Plume Award. She was also named "Fresh Face of Erotic Fiction 2009" by H.B. Fenn (the largest Canadian book distributor).

Carew has spoken at conferences, writers' meetings, and Algonquin College on many topics, such as creativity, writing a book in six months, editor/author relationships, how to interest an agent in your work, electronic publishing, and other topics related to the business and craft of writing.
