May 2014: How to Get Published: Tips from a New York Literary Agent

Jessica Faust of BookEnds, LLC will present a two-hour workshop open to the public free of charge. Learn how to find an agent, how to write a query, how to get published, and what an agent can do for you in today’s changing publishing environment. The presentation will be followed by an open pitch session for those interested.

As owner and literary agent at BookEnds, Jessica represents New York Times and USA Today Bestselling authors in mystery, young adult fiction, romance (including NY Times bestselling Ottawa author Sharon Page), and non-fiction. A veteran of publishing, she began her career as an editor at Berkley Publishing, Macmillan and Wiley, and brings her editing experience to the agency, where she works closely with authors to create the best possible proposal submissions. Jessica has been recognized as Agent of the Year by the New York City Romance Writers of America chapter.

In fiction, BookEnds literary agents represent titles in romance, young adult, mystery, steampunk, science fiction and fantasy, new adult, and women’s fiction. In nonfiction, the agents represent titles in current affairs, reference, business, parenting, pop culture, and general nonfiction. See www.bookends-inc.com for more information.
